Join us for an event that is equal parts fun and enchanting. It's a prime opportunity to multiply your appreciation for the beauty of math and patterns in the natural world at the opening day of our new exhibit, A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature.

Scheduled Activities*

Reflect and Refract 
Create your own brightly colored suncatcher that reflects beautiful repeating patterns.

Perfect Prisms
Play with light and magnetic tiles to discover the different kinds of shapes you can make.

Patterns in Nature
Learn about the swirls, symmetry, and branching patterns with examples of objects found in nature.

Fractal Fossils
Using air-dry clay, create your own ammonite or shell fossil for representations of geometric items from nature.  

Sand Pendulum
Watch as harmonic motion creates geometric patterns in the sand.
